Chritmas 2008

Boring post really LOl but I wanted to put down our Christmas memories...

Well thank goodness we have Christmas over with for another year! It has been a hectic few weeks leading up this year. We started with a Christmas dinner at my dads place on the Saturday before. Dad and Sally do a great job every year, we always have a bbq. Dad makes all sorts sauces and marinades and whips up a few salads to go with it. We had a lovely day.

The next day we had Bugg Christmas, at Pauls nieces house in Werribee. There's around 45 people when the Bugg clan get together!!! It's always a big day! Everyone brings food and we have a massive smoragasboard. Then it was down to Anglesea for a bbq dinner with some friends.

Move on to Christmas day, we spent the whole day at home. Lunch was the full on roast with Nana Green, and Nana and Pa Bugg. It was really lovely to have them with us. Then onto dinner time, time to party !!! The rest of my family came over for dinner. The Parkos, The Pearces, The Hemsies and Nana Green. It's always fun and relaxing at tea time. I love getting the cousins all together, it doesn't happen that often. We had heaps of good food and good drink!!! A great day really.

But I am glad it is over ! I have eaten soooo much, and I am craving some normality, and some healthy food. I went back to the gym yesterday and felt soooo good.

Now onto the next festivity! We are heading to Bright tomorrow for a few days, and going up to Wagga fro New Years Eve. I'm really looking forward to seeing my lovely friends and their families. I'm also a bit nervous about heading off as for the first time ever we are leaving Cleo behind! She is going on a massive adventure LOL To the Lorne Falls Festival. I've been told they can expect what is normally a 1 hour trip to take up to 3 hours, while the stream of cars heads in to Lorne. It's a huge festival, and the accomodation is camping. No showers LOL Ah to be 17 again !!! I am very excited for her!

I have itchy feet

I am feeling very restless at the moment. I want to get a job... But what to do! I don't even really know what I want to do ! I have my sewing, but it comes and goes, the enthusiasm. And I want people to talk to. I am getting lonely in this life of a SAHM/WAHM.

So yeah, I am on the lookout!

Word of the week ... Schwanger

What a great word!

Cleo comes in with her friend Mitch the other day and says "Mum, ich bin schwanger" I said, "I have no idea what you are saying. They had massive grins on both their faces. So she told me to look it up on the net.

WTF!!!!!! ICH BIN SCHWANGER You bloody better not be!!!!!

The translation... Ich bin schwanger is German for I am pregnant

Fortuantley it was Cleo and Mitch's idea of a joke!!!

The bloody word is engraved in my mind and I love it !!! It just rolls off the tongue.

It would appear that Kathi is also a fan of it HEHEHEHEHE (break out the Teena lady ROFLMAO)

Schwanger..... word of the week

I'm bored

Yep I'm bored, so I thought I'd do some blogging. But what to say.... I have nothing to say !

My life is boring...... what did I do today... washing, vacuuming, clean the bloody toilets and all that other domestic shit that no one else wants to do.

I am home with just Cleo and Jamie. And they are not talking to me. They are locked away in the black hole. The place where you never know if you will get out of alive !

Andy has gone to his besties for tea. Paul and Lachie have gone to basketball. So what is there left for me to do......

Turn to the sherry of course!!! It doesn't make much conversation. But shit it tastes good ! Bloody hell I could of almosgt post this in Kathis wine blog! I haven't had a sherry in a while and it has gone straight to my fucking head !!!!!

Ahhhhhhhh feels good.

I can't talk to Kathi cos her fucking puter is broken !!! KATHI don't you know it is against the rules not to be online daily!!! Who am I supposed to play with !!!

A few Merimbula pics

Merimbula

It has taken me over a week to find the time and energy to post about our fantastic weekend away! OMG we had so much fun, and drank so much alcohol! I has taken me all week to recover!

This was our annual get together with some of the families we have met who all have a child with DS in their lives. This year it was the Buggs, Mc Harrys, Mannings and Watsons.

We headed off at 4 am on our trek to Merimbula. I've never been there before or travelled through that part of Victoria, so it was a bit of an adventure. We stopped at Maccas in Sale for breakfast. That was an eye opener!!! Lets just say we wouldn't be rushing to live there in a hurry.

We hit the road and by the time we were around Bairnsdale we caught up with the Watson family. We all stopped a bit further down the road to give the kids a stretch and a toilet stop. The Watson clan are a classic! When the kids get out, it's a bit like a scene from Rug Rats. Jules I take my hat off to you!!! Those girls do keep you busy LOL

So we all headed off from there and arrived in Merimbula around 1pm. We both families assumed that since we had travelled so far and had little kids on board that they might let us into our accomodation early. But noooooo. This was the first insight we got into the weirdos who were running the place! The apartments were beautiful, very well equiped, but the psycho man who was one of the managers was basically a stalker!!! He stood on his balcony and perved on our goings on at every opportunity!

Anyway, we didn't let him spoil our holiday, in fact we used it to our advantage... I will explain later

So we spent Saturday afternoon, well, drinking HAHAHA Getting to know each other, eating, and laughing. Actually we did lots of laughing!!! By Saturday evening the famous Margarita bucket was frozen and ready for action. OMG did that get us in the spirit!!! It tasted divine, and before we knew it, there were 4 ladies and one younger lady (Cleo) off our faces. The noise level in the apartment rose significantly, and I recall someone feeling very sympathetic to the people staying above the Mc Harry apartment.

She yelled out something along the lines of SUCKO'S !!! hehehe The night was a hoot and some much needed relaxing and fun was had by all. The music Max channel provided us with some great entertainment. Matthew, Andy and Kev got into some interesting dance moves.

Sunday we ventured out to Magic Mountain. The weather could of been a bit warmer, but the kids seem to have a great day out just the same. We then lobbed at the RSL for dinner. It was great! Meals were yummy as and pretty cheap too. Kids had fun, adults had fun. Then it was back to the Mc Harrys for more drinks.

Monday we kinda did a bit of this'n'that. Some shopping, went for a drive to the beach. We took Luke with us. Cleo was hot on the texting and telling her mate about our aquired extra child. I think he was described as " a random infant we picked up" LOL He's a great kid Luke! In fact as were all the kids! With such varied age groups, I think the kids all deserve a huge pat on the back for how they all behaved.

Cleo loved chatting to Izzi and Kira. Izzi loved chatting to everyone LOL Lachie is the quiet achiever, but he had some fun with all the kids. He enjoyed a few chats with Luke, who seems to have a very similar personality to Lachie! He definatley has a soft spot for Matthew and Cody (don't we all !!!) And Andy had a hoot as usual, loved playing the fool with Kev and giving the ladies, and men, lots of hugs!!! And I got to cuddle baby Georgia, who is the sweetest little thing !!!

So it was a fantastic weekend away. Thank you families who came, can't wait to do it all again. I hope you all had as much fun as we did!!!

M.O.T.Y.

Today I raked up some massive MOTY points. Mother Of The Year that is!!! Cleo has gone camping down at Lorne, with Jamie, Johnny and Katelyn. They took two tents. They left yesterday afternoon. About oneish today I get the phone call. Muuuuuuuuum the tent broke in the wind! We went out and when we came back it was ripped and fallen down... Can you go buy us a new tent and bring it down??? Gawd talk about frantic voiced LOL I said calm down, I will see what I can do. So I went out to Rays Outdoors. And picked up a bargain! Three man tent for $38 !!! I should ad, the tent that broke belonged to Johnnys dad. So why didn't they ring his family LOL cos they know, Nasi the sucker will come to the party.

I had a quick discussion with Paul about it, and we figured, we don't own a tent at all, and since she is going to the Lorne festival thingy for new years eve, it didn't hurt to buy one.

So yeah, Nasi goes and drives down the coast to deliver the tent. I must say, the kids were extremelly grateful, and Johnny offered to buy me lunch for my trouble. He's a sweetie!!!

But I didn't really mind, cos Lorne is down the Great Ocean Road, and it is the best place to be on a nice sunny day! There was a lovely cool sea breeze, and the sun was shining! So I delivered the tent, and then the girls asked me to stay and go shopping with them. It was really nice actually. They did seem to genuinely appreciate my effort, so that was really pleasing.

I did them a favour LOL I told the boys if they wanted to go back to the camp I would drop the girls back later LOL so by the time I delivered them, the boys had set up the tent. HAHAHA I am teaching them well.

So I figure I earned lots of MOTY points today, I reckon it will almost put me in the lead HAHAHA !!!!!

Special Olympics Basketball

We have been in Dandenong this weekend. Andy played in the 2008 Special Olympics winter games. It was so much fun! They had athletes playing basketball, ten pin bowling and gymnastics. Of course Andy was in the basketball.

There were teams from 10 regions across Victoria. This was the first time that we have been involved. What an amazing event it was. They started of with an opening ceremony, where each region marched to some bagpipers, with a team representative carrying a sign saying where they were from. As you can imagine, there were many waves to the crowd and loads of smiles.

All the athletes were decked out in official Special Olympics outfits, they looked so cool!!!

We played two games on Saturday, and then one more today. Then this afternoon was the playoffs. We played off for 7th and 8 position. and we won LOL The team were ecstatic! They were so graceful in defeat, I really underestimated how they would react to a win. It was a tear gerker LOL The game was fantastic, I felt a little sad for our oposition, as they really didn't stand a chance, they were defeated badly in every game they played. But boy was it exciting for our kids! Paul used the timeouts to chat to the team and make sure they shared the ball around so that everyone on the team got a goal. With about 2 minutes to go, Andy was the only one who hadn't scored, so they set out to make sure he did. He ended up with about 5 shots at goal, and he finally got one in with about 30 seconds to go in the game. As you can imagine he went off LOL clapping and cheering himself hehehe.
At the end of the day, they had a closing ceremony where they all received ribbons and medals. The medal presenter was Lindsay Gaze! Yes Lindsay Gaze LOL father of Andrew Gaze. He said some amazing encouraging words to the athletes, and you could feel how genuine he was when he spoke and the enjoyment he got out of presenting the medals.

Oh should mention, Paul was the coach of Andys team. They needed an extra so since he has a few years coaching experience he was recruited. Turns out they liked his style, and have asked him to nominate himself for a coaches position at the 2009 National games in Adelaide. Apparently nominations have closed, but they were so impressed, they have made an exception for him.

The Barwon Region athletes entering the centre

This is Andys team, three people in the team have Down Syndrome

And Andy receiving his medal from Lindsey Gaze!

Nooooo Not the Prado

Well well well, it didn't take long to get some dirt for installment number two! We went on another driving adventure this afternoon. Cleo was driving sensationally! We went out to Deakin Uni again, and she was gunning it. Encountered and accomplished about 4 roundabouts, went up hill, down hill, did a few turns in the carpark, and then like yesterday, Cleo wanted to drive home. So onto the real roads we go.

We see this construction worker in a ute, he loses control on the dirt construction road, and Cleo says BAD EXAMPLE!!! DRIVE CAREFULLY and we continue... about 30 seconds down the road, round one corner, and then into the next. Move right MOVE RIGHT MOOOOOOOVE RIIIIIIIIIIGHT I say, but it was too late, we were ploughing through the road work star pickets. Collected four in all! As usual, bad mother, starts laughing, Cleo, starts laughing, Andy is shouting OH MY GOD, SHE CRASH THE CAR hehehehehe.

So I hop out, hopeing that there is no damage, alas I am wrong LOL not bad damage, but costly damage for sure! A couple of huge gouges in the front bumper bar.

Gotta say though, I am proud of miss Bugg, she laughed it off, stayed in the driver seat and drove home. Today, we didn't hit the roundabout, and parked out the front successfully.
And to think only on Monday, I was bragging to a girlfriend that this is the only car we have had that I haven't damaged LOL It doesn't look that bad, but it is a chunk out of the bumper, and as Pauly said, they will just replace the whole thing.

You can just see them, one at the back and

then three more in a pile at the front

And the car, the Prado, the only car we've bought that I haven't crashed yet!!!

She's on the road

Yikes! Cleo got her learners permit on Wednesday. She did really well, and passed with 91%. I was impressed! So yesterday, we hit the road, and the kerb, and a roundabout HAHAHA I will elaborate

We live very close to Deakin University, and this is where most of the learners in our area go to get a feel of driving. So we went there. I let her get behind the wheel. First we made sure that she knew which was the brake and which was the eccellerator LOL. So off we go! I realised very quickly that we should of had some instructions about how to turn the wheel too! As in you don't spin it at a million miles an hour like you do in a dodgem car, or you will end up all over the road!!!

Mind you she is driving my Prado, it is a auto, and had very touchy brakes, and loads of power LOL We're not allowed to use Pauls car, which is a lot smaller, because it's a company car.

So we head up hill, probably a good choice, cos she can use the eccellerator a little, not going to badly. Then we all shout TURN TURN as she almost mounts the kerb!!! She says, but don't I have to keep left LOL Yes, love, but not THAT far left, we do not want to hit parked cars or mount the kerb to often!!! It's going well, we do the big lap of the Uni car park, and Cleo decides she would like to drive home. Sure, I thought, get her into it. So we head out of the Uni, and straight to a road work zone, where the man is standing with his stop sign. Cleo starts to panic. WHEN DO I STOP????? When you get closer to him love. So we get closer and BANG on goes the brake! Whiplash and kindey damage all round. The bloke holding the sign is pissing himself laughing, as are we! I am so not good at being serious about these things! So we proceed and then we have another bloke with the stop sign and we do it all again. Yes, more whiplash and more kidney damage.

We got through the road work zone and then she could sit on 60! She was very determined to get up to the speed limit. Myself and the back seat passengers, Andy, Lachie and Jamie, were not so keen. But she did it anyway. She did really well actually. We then came up to the main highway near our home, and had to do the traffic light thing. This was a little scarey LOL since it is a very main road, and lots of trucks don't stop at the lights! So we sit a the red light, me with my hand firmly holding the handbrake, just in case... She did fantastically! Takes off beautifully, manouvers through the next two sets of lights, drives over the bridge near home (with me saying MOVE RIGHT, MOVE RIGHT) and then we come to the roundabout on our street.

What does she do? Hits the eccellerator instead of the brake!!! Fortunately her reflexes are young and quick and she quickly moved to the brake. Once again, bad mother is pissing herself laughing!!! We then manouvered around the roundabout and into our street. She cruises down the road, almost straight past our house, we shout STOP, pull into the kerb! What??? she says, and quickly turns, mounts the kerb and stops parked halfway onto next doors driveway.

That will do love, I say! Hop out and I shall park it LOL

So all in all she actually did a really good job. Considering she was so scared of even getting her permit, she is now keen to get on the road. I think there are going to be many grey hairs coming my way in the next few months, and many tales to tell!!!

Yeah, so that is installment one.

Grand Final day

It was the AFL grand final today. We had a very enjoyable afternoon! Had a few friends come over. And now the boys are kicking back in the spa. Well Lachie and Andy are. Paul is well....
LOL these past few months it has been me that gets pissed and falls asleep but today is his turn
8 pm and he is out cold hehehe

Was a bit of a dampener that the Cats lost, but we had lots of food and plenty of alcohol, so that made up for it LOL. And I was happy for the Shane Crawford. He has been such great players for so many years, so it was really nice to see him win a Grand Final.

Here's as few pics from the day

I tried the white wine theory

Kathi posted this excellent information about the benefits of white wine. Well last night I put the theory to the test. I went out with a few friends to see a band. Of course it was the perfect atmosphere to try out the benefits LOL Although I did substitute the wine for scotch LOL Here's how it went. There were a list of warnings of the effects...

Side effects may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, incarceration, erotic lustfulness, loss of motor control, loss of clothing, loss of money, loss of virginity, delusions of grandeur, table dancing, headache, dehydration, dry mouth, and a desire to sing Karaoke and play all-night rounds of Strip Poker, Truth Or Dare, and Naked Twister. I managed to only suffer from a few of these side effects not sharing which one though LOL

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine may make you think you are whispering when you are not. Yep seems I did a good job of that one!

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine is a major factor in dancing like an idiot. Yep definately got that one happening!

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine may cause you to tell your friends over and over again that you love them. Yep pretty much did that got some good hugging goin on !

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine may cause you to think you can sing. Yep gave that a go!

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine may lead you to believe that ex-lovers are really dying for you to telephone them at four in the morning. Didn't manage that one, but maybe next time!

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine may make you think you can logically converse with members of the opposite sex without spitting. Yep did that, and got told I was spitting LOL

WARNING:The consumption of White Wine may create the illusion that you are tougher, smarter, faster and better looking than most people. Not sure on this one!

So there you have it. I can definately see the benefits. Had a great night out, lots of laughs, lots of drinks and lots of loud music.

I need to grow up !!!

Oh geezus, I took Cleo to the GP today, cos she has been complaining of feeling tired all the time. We hadn't seen this lady before, and it was clear pretty early on that she thought Cleo's tiredness is perhaps lifestyle related rather than medical. She did however decided to do a thorough questionaire on Cleo... What time do you go to bed? What time do you go to sleep? Do you use a computer in bed? Do you text people at night? Do you exercise? Do you eat healthily.

All this is good. And I was pleased with her approach except..... The entire time we were in there which seemed like forever, there was this person heaving their guts out in the next room! It sounded like someone having a baby! but spewing LOL Oh my God! The noise was unbeleivable and I couldn't stop laughing!!! I was hysterical!!! And Cleo just looked at me with a massive grin. I managed to contain myself by putting my hand on my chin, you know destracting myself. And then... When I wasn't even laughing, the GP thought I was and she puts her hand up (you know, talk to the hand style) and says STOP hahahahaha As soon as we got out the door Cleo started pissing herself laughing, as did I. And the spewer was still going!!!

So that is my ebarassing, "I need to grow up" story for today. I am sure the GP was thinking what the fuck is wrong with this woman, no wonder the girl has issewwwwwwwws HEHEHEHEHE

Letting go!

What were you doing on New Years Eve when you were 17.5? I know what I was doing, I was at a nightclub hanging with friends and getting pissed. I know what Pauly was doing, he was camping down the beach in a tent, also getting pissed. But what to we expect our kids to be doing? I know several of my girlfriends expect their kids to stay at home with them. We have managed that for the last few years, and this year I think we have to let go a little.

Cleo has just been successful in getting tickets for what they call The Falls Festival. It's in Lorne, and basically they have heaps of bands, it runs for three days over New Years Eve. So I have been pondering over it's suitablility for her. At this stage she is planning on going with Jamie, her man friend, his mate Johnny and her friend/Johnnys girlfriend, Katelyn.

There's been a fair bit of talk about it at the house of Bugg. So yeah the pondering, is she too young? Will she try drugs? Will she get insanely pissed? Is it too dangerous? And then I thought, well who knows! she might try the drugs, she will definately get pissed, and maybe it is dangerous, but can I then justify not allowing her to go? Considering 6 months from then, she will be 18 and we can't stop her anyway!

It's a tough call! I wan't my kids to exprience life, and don't want to wrap them up in cotton wool. But then you hear all the bad stuff that is out there and start to worry! So Pauly has bought the tickets dadaaaaaaaaaah! And Cleo is ectstatic! The rest we shall have to wait and see!

It's a new day

Well I don't feel quite as bad today. Andy has actually not coughed once during the night Yipeeeeeee! Either that or I am that stuffed that I didn't hear him LOL. Anyway, it is a good sign and I am confident at this stage that he will go to school today.

Oh, and Thursday night, haircut night, is looking even better, since the hairdressers have moved to within walking distance of my sisters, and am now going to pamper my self the whole evening. Visiting them after my haircut and my lovely BIL Schris, yes the one who is responsible for my new found love of what I always thought was only for cooking, can pour me a glass of sherry.

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh things are looking up LOL

Warning ASW post coming right up!

Yes, I am on the whinge. Why does it have to take Andy 3 weeks to get over a cold that everyone recovers from in a few days! He has been home from school for almost 2 weeks now with it and was full of it a week before that, and quite frankly I am over it!

I was so excited about his new school schedule and all the time it would leave me. Hahaha dream on Nazz! I think he has had maybe two full weeks of the schedule! The rest he has had days off because of staff commitments or he has been sick.

I want to go shopping all by myself, I want to have no noise in the house for a few hours, (we seem to have an endless viewing of either the WWE or the Wiggles! I am not sure which one is driving me more crazy!!!) I want to go to Fannywood during the day, instead of in the cold of night when you have to fight the working ladies for a treadmill, I want to walk the poor dog and I want the house all to myself! Is it too much to want? I don't think so!!!!!

Ah well, such is life! I will go to Fannywood tonight and take out my frustrations on the tready. And I have booked myself in for a hair do on Thursday night.

I have had enough of winter, actually I think I have had enough of everything! Let me think about that for a minute.

Yep, I have!!!!!

I've been tagged

I've been tagged by Danni

Here's the rules

1. Link to the person who “tagged” you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up

Ooooh here we go, 6 random things about me!

1. I love holidays. We grew up with camping holidays. Many of them on the Murray river. They are my treasured childhood memories. Spending the days swimming in the river, catching fish with a spear attached to a bow and arrow, cooking apples in the campfire. We always went with other families. So much fun!!! And I have never taken my own kids camping LOL. I do prefer a little more comfort these days!

2. I am almost back to being a size 10 !!! Fannywood is really doing wonders for me and I love it!

3. I am starting to enjoy my life. I used to be a worrier, what do people think of me, what about what I'm wearing etc. now I don't give a shit. I am me, take me as I am or don't bother.

4. I enjoy the odd alcoholic beverage. Oh okay, I am learning to enjoy more than just the odd one! and I can hardly wait for our holiday in Merimbula, where I just know the alcohol will be flowing freely!!! Which leads me to the next random fact.

5. Having a child with DS has had some amazing affects on my life. One of which I will be forever grateful, the fact that I have met some really lovely families. You girls are my NBF's hehehe and I love that the bond of having children with DS has brought us all together.

6. I love yoga. The moves are so relaxing and stimulating at the same time. The best part of the class is at the end where you do relaxation. Laying quietly on the floor while the instructor talks quietly and you just lay there.

Okay and now to tag 6 more people, this is a challenge as I don't have many blogging friends LOL

So

Kathi
Rachel
Um, will have to see who else I can drag in hehehe

Full moons

Are you into the full moon stuff? I am LOL It never ceases to amaze me how things happen when a full moon is looming. Today there is a partial lunar eclipse and a full moon! I tell you I could feel it coming!

Have a read of this, it's taken from and astrology site, much of it is reitterated in todays Body and Soul magazine, which I eargerly read this morning, cos things have been a little wacko here on a emotional level the last few days.

Generally, earthlings tend to be more emotionally expressive druing a Full Moon. A Lunar Eclipse emphasizes this emotinal reaction! Psychic sensitivity, spiritual instincts and emotial connectedness are aroused by a Lunar eclipse as the environment becomes a little unstable......

and then...

Eclipses always mean crises. But crisis is not necessarily a bad thing. Personally, a phase of your life ends and a new one begins. Whatever part of your life is not in sync with your true life's purpose will show the most change and this can be seen by where this eclipse falls in your personal chart. But remember, this is all good and part of your pattern of growth as you are forced to finally drum up the courage to make necessary life corrections!

How bizarre! It sums up our week to a tee!

Did you know Stephanie Rice won a gold medal?

Well I couldn't give a fat rats arse what she does! and if I hear one more interview with her family (who I am sure are just as over the ridiculous amount of media attention) I am going to throw a brick through our television screen!

I am finding it difficult to fill in my mornings, cos I usually watch Sunrise, but every time I turn it on STEPHANIE RICE, STEPHANIE RICE, STEPHANIE RICE is all you bloody hear about!

Oooooh and I think she was seen smiling at her now ex boyfriend! Does this mean they are lovers again? Surely one smile means they are going to get married very soon!!!!! DOH!

Did you know her dad had to bring over her favorite shoes because she forgot them. And that Sunrise replayed their pathetic interview about it, oh around 5 times I reckon! Oh who gives a shit!

And I miss my shows!!! I want to watch Deal or no Deal, not sport, sport and more sport.

The sherry

Chris Parkinson I blame you!!! Bloody hell, Nasi never never drinks mid week, and now you got me onto the sherry I am enjoying a glass or two every night! Good shit hey!!!! And cheap LOL
The kids think it's quite amusing that we have a flagon in our pantry hehehe

Actually it seems to keep me awake unlike other alcoholic beverages I drink!

And it's all Chris's fault!

I've joined Fernwood!

After tooing and froing about it for a few weeks, I've taken the plunge and signed up at Fernwood. They have built a brand new gym, only 2 minutes drive from home. I have tried two other gyms, but I think I have always been put off using the gym equiptment when there are men around! So this is the perfect choice! The staff seemed very switched on and persistant that you use all aspects of the gym, which is what I want, someone pushing me around a bit, and making sure I get into it!

As I am not getting any younger (or fitter!) I have decided that now is the time to get in shape. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm not "overweight"... Not YET, but it is slowly creeping up, so I am taking hold before it gets out of hand hehehe.

First class will be a yoga class tomorrow morning, then the body pump at 6.15 on Monday LOL that is so me!!! I am always up early so it will be fun!

So I want to get back to being a size 10, I just don't like being this bit bigger and I really hate my muffin tops eeeeewwwwww! So here's to a new fitter and healthier me this summer..... Cheers!

Winter Blues

I think we've got the winter blues in our house. Today, and most of this week for that matter, the weather has been crap. Freezing cold, and rain on most days. Today has been the worst so far. By about 5 pm it was down 7.8 degrees!!!

Cleo is shitty as, she was cold, Jamie was working, and she was BORED! Lachie went to the movies, but when that was over, home he came, and he was... you guessed it... BORED. Andy went out for most of the day with some friends. He comes home, starts yelling at everyone, doesn't know what to do with himself, cos it's so cold and wet outside, and he is... BORED!!!

I have plenty that I can amuse myself with, but trying to keep them all from being BOOOOOORED is a bloody nightmare! Up until about 2 days ago I was coping fine with the holidays. Tonight all I can think of is, tomorrow is the last day I have to put up with them before its the weekend and then back to school on Monday.

I am becoming the domestic goddess!!!

Yes, I am... Really LOL

I bought this gorgeous apron on Etsy.com It's from a lady in Brisbane. She called it fit for the domestic goddesses. Then I got this really old book from my dad. He was cleaning out his cookbooks. It is a ripper!!! It doesn't have a print date on it, but I am assuming is it from around the late 1940's.

It has some wonderful tips on kitchen layouts hehehe.
But the recipes... OMG some bloody sensational old fashioned goodness!
Today I made the most amazing leek soup. I even made my own vegetable stock. It was actually so damn easy! And the best part, Cleo thinks it is delicious! So do I actually.

I'll post a few pics of the domestic goddesses in action......

Can you see the similarities??? Look the part don't I!
hehehe, yeah, like I'm ever gonna be a domestic goddess LOL

Gotta love the "modern household refridgerator!!!

Ah the serenity.....

I have been to Bright for a few days, with Rachel and family. Don't you hate it when you go away and forget the camera! It was so beautiful coming into Myrtleford. There as a huge fog cloud but it was so low and thick like fairy floss, you could see the top of the mountain over it, with the sun shining in the background. The air is so crisp and clean up there. I laughed to myself as I put the car window down to take a sniff, and couldn't help but think to myself.....Michael Caton "ah the serenity "

And then when you wake up in the morning there are all these gorgeous birds everywhere, a few rabbits hopped through the backyard. You could hear the creek rushing in the background. And the air..... bloody freezing, but so crisp and clean! See what more can you say ..... "ah the serenity" !!!

Rachel and I did some op shopping, got some fantastic patterns for 20c each BARGAIN!!! The lady working the oppy was from Geelong. She was an oldy, she moved to Bright about 5 years ago, and said she absolutely loves it. She is my new inspiration LOL That will be ME when the kids are grown up and doing their own thing. The people are so friendly. It's so peaceful and quiet, not to metion it's less than an hour to the top of Falls Creek!

I can see myself, the old granny skiing with the grandkids. "C'mon kids, I'll race you down Wombats Ramble, one of you bring m' walkin' stick down will you" ROFL I might have to buy one of those skiido's so I can ride comfortably while they ski hehehe.

My vegies are growing

I planted myself some winter vegies. Brocolli, lettuce, spring onion and peas! The spring onions are dead. Probably because Paul dug them up thinking they were weeds and threw them in the rubbish bin!

Everything else is growing beautifully! I have most non-green thumbs ever LOL. But for some reason my vegies grow with ease. I give them very little care and attention. Just a little bit of water if I see them wilting.

I took these pics tonight, in the dark cos I am bored so decided to do a post. I couldn't see outside cos we have no outside light, so they are snap-and-see-what-you-get pics! I was really taking a huge risk. There are sloppy barkers eggs galore out there, and in the pitch black you never know what you're standing on. But I have made it back inside without a single trace of poo!
This it the whole vegie patch. It's pretty small, but it's plenty to give us heaps of vegies
You can see my little dwarf peach tree. It gave us heaps of fruit last year. Only thing, I am intollerant to them (so I found out after scoffing into a few) and no one else in the house likes them!

Here's the peas, just starting to get close to the climbing wire.

My brocolli, looking very healthy indeed ( I don't eat brocolli either hehehe)

but Lachie loves it

And my lettuce. Cleo and I both love lettuce. They're lookin' good too!

So that's it, my magnificent vegie garden! I will take some pics in a few weeks and see if they are growing!

Oh yeah, I've been partying!!!

It's been a busy day, eating drinking and jumping! It was Ivy's 4th birthday today. They had a lovely party for her, with a jumping castle. My kids thought it was great! Ivy's little friends loved having the big kids to play with too! Cleo ended up face painting all the girls. And Lachie was king of the kids on the jumping castle.

And I got to make Ivy's cake! It was so much fun, and so much easier than when I made my own kids cakes when they were little. Here's a pic

Look at my sewing room!!!

What do you do on a Saturday afternoon when you are bored? You go to Bunnings!!! Cos they always have something you NEED. And I needed shelves and storage for my sewing room. It's a tiny study, that is home to my sewing machines, a computer desk, the vaccuum cleaner, and any other crap around the house that has no home. It has been driving me crazy, and I kept on losing my sewing!!! So look what we got!

So before.....

more before.....

and after!!!

Doesn't take much to make Nasi happy. Now to keep it that way for more than a day!!!
There's a challenge !

The deb ball

My beautiful Cleo made her Debut on Friday night. It was a great night! The dances they did were fantastic, all the old favorites, the jive, a quickstep, a waltz and some other one I can't remember. Best thing was they used modern music. Of course Cleo was the prettiest deb at the ball LOL.

Her dress was gorgeous, after having to get a last-minute-new-dressmaker, due to the first one becoming sick and unable to sew! Then there was the blunder 2 nights before, when her hairdressers phoned to say Cleo's hairdresser had been called to jury duty AAAAAArrrrggghhh!!! That was not what we needed to hear! But as it turned out, the other hairdresser did a beautiful job.

We all got very dressed up! The boys looked very cute in their suits. The food was average, but there was heaps of it. The band were fantastic, played all the right songs.

Andy carved up the dance floor. He did some break dancing and the entire dance floor made a circle around him. I was out getting a coffee and heard all the clapping and cheering, I came back in the room to see Andy doing his thing and the cameraman filming it all LOL. Cleo was a little embarassed, but we got that sorted. At the deb after party she realised that everyone thought he was very cool.

Here's a few pics

Bug Lady is slack

Yes Bug Lday has been very slack and hasn't blooged in here for ages! Probably because I have nothing worth saying! Life is being very normal. Andy is going to school without much fuss. Cleo is also going to school without much fuss (somewhat of a miracle that one!!!) and as usual Lachie is being Lachie - going with the flow.

He did come home the other night and say "oh, I'm in a science and engineering challenge tomorrow" so I asked the 50 questions and off he went. Came home, says nothing. Then when I remember to ask he says "yeah we won!!! now we go to Melbourne for the regional event!!! He is such the quiet achiever.

So that's is it in the House of Bug. We are off to Bright in an hour or so. Booked into the Cosy Kangaroo, off course!!! I think it's gonna be a little chilly up there! Got my trackies, and slippers packed, plus a couple of bottles of wine, so all will be good!!!

For Ivy

This little number is a gift for Ivy. I have one in the pipeline for April too.

They are such little troopers, trying on outfits and telling me which ones they like, then they take them off and give them back to me to sell! So I thought I would make a couple of special dresses just for them, and look at the gorgeous fabric I found!!! It's a panne velvet with silver sparkling stars. Every little girls dream fabric LOL. I'll post Aprils when it's made up too.

BUGGZ blog

I've decided to setup a seperate blog to showcase my sewing creations. It has links to where the items are for sale. Some are on my wahmnaps store and some are on Ebay. I'm looking at getting my own seperate store in the very near future, but will see how I go on Ebay in the meantime. I don't want to make a million bucks but I need to keep the stock moving so I can afford more fabric LOL.

There's a link to the Buggz BLOG on the right side here, in my often visited sites links.

I've been to Queensland

We have just returned from 10 days on the Gold Coast. We had a fantastic time, largely due to the fact that we went with our friends, who have 16 year old triplets, and get on fantastically with our three kids.

We had lots of fun at the theme parks. The Carrara markets and Broadbeach night market were great too. We went out for dinner almost every night! Nothing to fancy, but it was more than I would normally go out for a whole year!!!

Here's a few happy snaps.

Posing Andy (just for a change!) Me, Paul, Jo and Peter

The boys - Toni, Lachie and Andy

Me and Jo at Starbucks

I can't beleive I went on this ride, and then we couldn't get enough of it!!! It was a hoot!

That will do for now. Thanks to the power of digital photography we took about 800 photos!!!

20 Years... How did THAT happen

It has been 20 years today since I walked down the aisle!!! I can't beleive I have been married for that long, and we still speak to each other! We have a very romatic day planned - drop kids at school, take my car to the mechanic, Paul drops me at canteen for my volunteer hours, pick kids up from school, go to Lachies basketball semi final and have "bits and pieces" for dinner. Bits and pieces being steamed dims, corn on the cob, frozen pizza or anything they can find in the freezer. Ahhhhhh wedded bliss.

Here's a couple of nostalgic photos of that day.
The loving young couple

This is with my mum and dad.
Gotta love the white suit and matching shoes.
And check out my perm and oh-so-80's hat!

"Rose"

I found this magnificent cloth the other day. It was very expensive by Oppy standards! But I knew I had to have it. Here's what I made. This one of my favorite ever sewing pieces!!!

This is a close up of the roses, they are stunning!!!

Forget the GDUNH join Buggsie GDUSH

Yes that's right, today I am launching Buggsies Great Down Under Sock Hunt. If you can find even one matching sock for my magnificent pile of lonely "one only" socks you will be greatly rewarded! How can we have accumulated so many "one only" socks??? Where the hell is that sock monster hiding, and what has he done with all our socks, cos I am over it!
I have a sneaking suspicion that many of them are probably in the land of no return (that would be Cleo's bedroom floor- once your in there you will never return!) From now on my boys will only be wearing socks with a distinctive band around them. Yes I am coordinating each male in the house with a type of sock. Lachies have three rings around the top. Andys have colored soles, so he can put his socks on easier, and Paul can choose his own!!! but if he dares to choose plain white then finding the pairs will be his resposibility. Here's the proof of why we need to stop buying plain white socks...

More tagging

I've been tagged again!!! By Danni - this one is three reasons why I blog

1. It gives me another reason not to do house work "what have you been doing all day dear" "Paul, I've been BLOGGING" hehehe

2. It gives me somewhere to show off my sewing projects, which I am getting obsessed with right now!

3. I like the idea of looking back on this in a couple of years and seeing what I was up to!

So that's it, three reasons why I blog.

I am supposed to tag 3 more people, but I don't know any wah wah wah!!!

And todays creation

I am hooked on these tableclothes. I need a day to myself to do some more op shopping.

Here's todays creation. This ones a size 2 and the skirt is a long one. I love it!!!

I forgot to take the "before" photo. But it was a round tablecloth and it fitted the pattern perfectly along the hemline, so I used the edge of the tablecloth for the hem, it has a goregoues matching rolled hem.

And here's a close up of the hem

I've been tagged!!!

Hehehe I've been tagged!!! by Danni - aka http://mummytobe.blogspot.com/

Here are the rules:1. Link back to the person who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. Share six unimportant things about yourself.
4. Tag six random people at the end of your blog entry.
5. Let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs.

Well here goes!!!

1. I like the toilet paper hung so it rolls from the top, not underneath.

2. I hate hate hate housework, my house is a pig pen, not as bad as Cleos bedroom, but messy messy messy and I don't give a shit!!!

3. When my kids are all grown up I want to live several months of the year in Bright.

4. I make fantastic banana cakes that are all eaten within the day.

5. I love looking up holiday destinations on the internet. Holidays are the best times of our lives!!! so many places I would like to go to in my Winebago that I am going to buy when I win tattslotto!!!

6. I never breastfed any of my babies past 5 weeks! and I don't care!! and they all grew up healthy and happy on lots and lots of baby forumula!!!

Well since I only have two blogging friends, that's Danni and Kathi, I think I need to find out how to get more people added to my blog, so if I get tagged again I can actually tag some people LOL.

Okay best get back to the kids. Don't you love teachers strikes !!!

Oooohhhh I'm going vintage

I have found some new sewing inspiration. I saw on someone elses blog some clothes made out of vintage table clothes! They looked fantsatic. So this week I did some op shopping! Have come away with some great bargains!!! A few oh-so-stylish patterns for 50c each! BARGAIN !!!

I have created a couple of out fits so far from one of the table clothes. Today Cleo and I did some more opping and found 3 more!!! It's lots of fun, and makes things so individual.

Here's my creations

From this....

They look really cool with Aprils boots, but it was getting to hot and she took them off.

Thanks April for being sucha good sport and trying on for me. You look very pretty!

Life in the fast lane

It's been a busy week in the House of Bug. Started off with Maurice's fall last weekend, I spent a few hours Monday in hospital with him and Rach. Fortunately our visit to the Royal Childrens came away with what Rach wanted to hear, that it all looks good and he just needs to have another checkup in 8 weeks. I don't know where the rest of the week has gone!

Got a bit more sewing done. I love this one!

The froggys are quite small but oh so cute! I'm really happy with the tartan lining to, looks quite nice!

Check out this doggy print! I managed to find some dog bone buttons on ebay hehehe, they look cool!

Sold my pirate frogs one, no wonder, with gorgeous Mozz modelling it!!! That boy has such a cute smile!
